Happy Birthday Jesus - Small Group Party

Our small group had a birthday party for Jesus last night. We had cake and icecream and the kids sang happy birthday! It was so cute.

We also read to them the story of the birth of Jesus and used this GREAT interactive nativity for them to learn about each character. One of our friends had this book with the nativity, and it is wonderful for kids to learn about the birth of Christ. It is called "What God Wants for Christmas". It goes through each part of the nativity-Gabriel, Mary, Joseph, Jesus, Wise Men, Shepherds and there is a gift box to open for each character that you add to the nativity. The last box is the gift that God really wants for Christmas. Each kid was able to take a peek before reading about the box. It has a mirror inside of it and tells how God just wants US! It is so cute! The kids got so excited when they saw themselves "inside" the box.
Madison's reaction when she saw herself in the last box....precious!

Madison opened the box with baby Jesus.....

Listening carefully as the story is read....

We went to a Happy Birthday Jesus party this last week too(and Madi Mae wore the same outfit as your Madison :). It is so important that we are teaching our children at a young age what Christmas is about.
