Once again, I managed to get the pictures/post in reverse order!! Scroll to the bottom of this post and read upwards to go in order of the party!!! We had a blast celebrating Madison's second birthday. She really did...she crashed the second we walked in the door. We had a great turnout of friends and family (thank for coming Granny and Gigi!). We decided to do a cowgirl theme this year. We went all out Texas style of course with a BBQ brisket, ranch style beans and dirty rice.

Our little expert kite flier. After everyone left, we looked up to find Madison flying a kite...BY HERSELF! She would even tug on the rope when it started to fall. We just couldn't believe it! See video at the bottom of this post of her messing with the kite rope while it was flying high in the sky!
Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to Madison....Happy Birthday to YOU! It was so cute when we sang happy birthday to her. All the kids were gathered round to sing. Madison was blowing as hard as she could to blow the candles out, but she was so far away and really wasn't blowing that hard they weren't going out. A little girl right across from them blew them out when she wasn't looking. Madison turned around and started laughing so hard. She really thought she blew them out!! Video of this will be in a later post.....
We had a table set up for the kids to decorate their own cupcakes. Who would have known what a hit this was!! Kids were running table to table handing them out to the adults, and they were so proud they were making cupcakes for you!
Madison had quite a bit of fun playing with the bubbles!! It ended up all over her dress! I decided to sew Madison's birthday outfit!! I think it turned out precious!!! She LOVED prancing around in her dress and boots. She was so cute and sassy!
All the kids running around playing on the lawn. We had kites, frisbees, balls, and bubbles for the kids. We also had a huge cowgirl boot pinata!! Madison held her bag to collect candy from the pinata out at all the other kids like she was trick or treating. She quickly realized no one was putting candy in her bag!!!
I decided to make Madison a cowgirl hat cake this year. Kind of a stressful idea! I actually had to cut the cake to look like a hat because I couldn't find a mold. I watch way too much Ace of Cakes!!!

Granny and Gigi flew in from Texas to help celebrate Madison's birthday!

Loved all the pics of Madison's b-day party! You did such a great job on the cake---and with no mold!!! :) Maybe you could fly in in May and cut a car cake out for Shane! :)
